If the newly installed multimedia device does not match the
vehicle’s interior it seems like a foreign body. With vehicle-specific
installation panels, the surface optics can be corrected, but what about the
different look of the buttons? Or even the display illumination, especially in
the night mode?
Zenec’s answer to these questions is called Exchange and Go – succinctly called
E>GO – and it stands for an innovative generation of 2 DIN navigation devices
and whose looks are perfectly tailored to the original optics of various vehicle
types. The leader of the new series is the ZE-MC2000 whose design perfectly
matches the interior of the VW Golf V platform: from the colour of the dashboard
to the red/blue day and night illumination and the elegant front cover design.
Zenec’s new AV control centre harmonises optically perfect with VW’s Golf V, but
also goes with other vehicle models that are based on the Golf V platform: the
VW Jetta, EOS, Passat, Caddy, Tiguan, Touran, or the new Scirocco 2008 as well
as with the SEAT models Altea, Leon, and Toledo with minor modifications (new
installation frame necessary).
Even its installation features make the ZE-MC2000 E>GO a perfect fit in the
intended vehicle: ZE-MC2000 can be integrated into the original installation
slots of all cars with Golf V platform without complicated installation work and
without any additional adapters: simply remove the original radio, install the
E>GO, and off you go.
Even the connection to the factory-installed steering wheel remote control is
not a problem for the E>GO: simply connect the E>GO to the existing plug – all
functions of the steering wheel remote control are maintained. After all, E>GO
stands for a coherent total concept where a goal – a primary goal – is the ease
of installation.
The ZE-MC2000’s general equipment features were completely adopted from Zenec’s
proven headunits. The integrated CD/DVD drive plays all common AV formats. In
addition to the reception optimised RDS tuner and a digital power amplifier, the
E>GO also has an integrated SD card reader as well as a full-feature Bluetooth
module for comfortable hands-free phoning. Included in delivery of the ZE-MC2000
is a media link box that contains a USB port, an iPod connector (direct
connection!), a 3.5 mm jack plug, as well RCA A/V inputs for video, audio L and
audio R.By means of this box, additional components can be quickly connected and
easily removed, if desired. Since the connector cable for the headunit is 1.4 m
long, the box offers a wide range of installation possibilities – i.e. in the
glove box.
ZE-MC2000 is equipped with Dolby Digital and Pro Logic II decoders with various
equaliser functions – surround effects are possible with up to 6 separate sound
channels, that can otherwise only be achieved with superior home cinema systems.
Of course, further additional components from the Zenec programme such as
navigation, DVBT tuner, or a rear view camera can be connected to the new E>GO
and – just as with the iPod or the hands-free set – can be comfortably
controlled using touch screen.
